Submit an Application to Participate in a Working Session at the 2020 Conference

ASTR invites you to submit an application to participate in one of the working sessions for the 2020 Annual Conference to be held at the Astor Crowne Plaza in New Orleans, LA, November 5 - 8, 2020. Review all the calls for individual working sessions on this year’s theme, “Theatre and Performance after Repetition,” on our website.

We are sure that you share with us the occasional feelings of absurdity as normal professional routines intrude into the distressing and extraordinary circumstances affecting us all right now. ASTR is monitoring closely the COVID-19 pandemic and the ethics and policies regarding mass gatherings. At this time, ASTR leadership intends to move forward with the 2020 conference in November in New Orleans, but the well-being of our members will inform all decisions in the coming months. In the meantime, we hope that you will take the opportunity to engage with the working sessions and conference theme. Especially now, connecting with colleagues and friends across the country to share scholarship and stories feels more important than ever. We look forward to the robust conversations among scholars and artists that make ASTR’s annual conference so vibrant.

Please note that you must apply online through the ASTR website. (You will need to be signed in to the ASTR website in order to complete the form for secuirty purposes.)

The form allows you to select up to three working groups, in order of your preference, and provides space to allow you to comment how your proposal might fit with each of those working groups.

The deadline for receipt of proposals is June 1.
