Dr. Megan Lewis (UMass Amherst) published two books in 2016: Magnet Theatre: Three Decades of Making Space (Intellect Books/Unisa Press, 2016), coedited with Dr. Anton Krueger from Rhodes University, documents the dynamic life of Magnet Theatre, a physical theatre company based in Cape Town, engaged in social justice work over the past three decades in South Africa. Performing Whitely in the Postcolony: Afrikaners in South African Theatrical and Public Life (University of Iowa Press, 2016), a single-author monograph, explores the how whiteness, masculinity, and national identity are performed, enacted, and reimagined.
