In August 2016, Jen Shook will join the faculty of Grinnell College as a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in Digital Bridges in Humanistic Inquiry, where she will teach courses in Native drama, performance and digital commemorations, and multimedia adaptation. She will graduate from the University of Iowa in August with a PhD in English. Her dissertation, “Unending Trails: Oklahoma-as-Indian-Territory in Performance, Print, and Digital Archives,” explores fissures in the colonial imaginary through commemorative reenactment and contemporary Native playwrights’ activation of time-worn stereotypes in the service of those stereotypes’ undoing, charting an insistence on historical education to build responsible relationships.
