Jacob Juntunen

Jacob Juntunen (Southern Illinois University) received a 2014 Thesaurus Poloniae Senior Scholar Fellowship and a 2014-15 Collaborative SEED Grant to research Tadeusz Kantor's performing objects in Poland. His initial findings will be presented at the ASTR conference in November. His full-length play In the Shadow of his Language had readings at Chicago Dramatists, the Chicago Cultural Center, the Alliance Theatre, and Playwrights Horizons in 2013-2014. In 2014, his full-length play Joan's Laughter was produced at Southern Illinois University, with guest director Megan Smith from Chicago's Sideshow Theatre, and also at Shots in the Dark Productions (Columbus, OH), directed by Jason Spiecher. His short play Saddam's Lions was published in Plays for Two (Vintage), and his short play See Him? was part of the Belarusian Dream Theater, a consortium of 18 theaters in 13 countries producing plays to raise awareness about human rights violations in Belarus.
