Stuart Hecht had several articles published in the past year, including: “From Blacklist to Free: the Musical Liberation of Zero Mostel” (The Sondheim Review) and a memorial obituary on Robert Sickinger (American Theatre). He has also contributed chapters to several forthcoming anthologies: “Owning Up: Controlling the Onstage Jewish Persona on the Early 20th Century American Stage” (in Stages of Engagement: U. S. Theatre and Performance from 1898-1949) and “Jazz, Jews and Modernism on Broadway: from Lady, Be Good! to Showboat” (in Experiments in Democracy: Inter-racial and Cross-cultural Exchange in American Theatre and Performance During the Pre-Civil Rights Era). He is Editor-in-Chief of New England Theatre Journal.
