|Distinguished Scholar Award|
The Distinguished Scholar Award is given each year to a scholar whose body of work has made a significant contribution to the field of theatre, dance, opera, and/or performance studies. The three immediately previous Distinguished Scholar Award winners will consider the candidates and select the recipient.
The names of previous years' nominees are forwarded to the current committee. New nominations will be accepted from ASTR members and previous winners of this award. In addition to submitting names, nominators may choose to submit brief biographical statements or lists of major scholarly works for nominees (though this is not necessary).
The three evaluators will weigh the contributions made by each of the nominees to the fields of theatre, dance, opera, and/or performance studies. Involvement in ASTR is also a criterion for this award.
