You may notice changes in a couple of ASTR's awards and grants. To improve access and respond to the realities of the membership and the profession, I'd like to bring the following to your attention:

ASTR Collaborative Research Award:

The Domestic Exchange and Visiting Scholars' Exchange Programs have in essence been combined to become the ASTR Collaborative Research Award, which provides up to $1,750 in funding and a one-year ASTR membership. This revamping allows more flexibility in applications and more efficient operation on the part of the selection committee. For more information, see the webpage for this award.

Grants for Researchers with Heavy Teaching Loads (formerly "Grants for Researchers at Teaching-Intensive Institutions"):

This grant now focuses on the individual, rather than the institution, in supporting those with heavy teaching requirements. The grant provides up to $1000 to fund research for scholars who have limited support for scholarship. One year’s membership in ASTR and conference registration accompany the award. Any scholar who holds a full-time faculty appointment and who has a teaching load of at least 4 courses a semester (or the equivalent) is eligible to apply. For more information, see the webpage for this award.
