Service to the profession is an important component of any career. While all graduate student members of ASTR are de facto members of the GSC, there are more opportunities to get involved in the management of ASTR’s grad interests via election to the GSC Cabinet.
The GSC Cabinet consists of the following positions, elected by the GSC membership:
1. GSC President, Representative to the Executive Committee*
2. GSC Vice President, Representative to the Committee on Conferences
3. GSC Vice President, Representative to the Annual Conference Committee
4. GSC Secretary/Historian
5. GSC Representative to the Committee on New Paradigms in Graduate Education
* GSC President and Representative to the EC is elected each year in May during the ASTR General Election. Stephanie Vella (CUNY Graduate Center) will serve as president for the 2015-16 term.
We are pleased to announce several opportunities to serve on the GSC Cabinet for the 2015-16 election year!
